Tuesday 2 January – Great day! I teamed up with Parker from Oregon, USA who is also walking solo.

We ended up in the same shuttle from Methven to the TA trailhead in Lake Colderidge Village – Arboretum Track.

We walked 6.3km through the Arboretum, along a road and along the Lake Colderidge shoreline on a farm.

We then hitched two rides to avoid 19km of road walking and re-started at the TA trailhead by Harper River.

The 19km walk to Hamilton Hut followed a four wheel track for most of the way along the river.

Lots of river crossings but only knee deep.

It was a lovely sunny day and I enjoyed walking with Parker.

I had two nights at Hamilton Hut and enjoyed a lazy day of reading and relaxing in the sun.
