Tuesday 30 January – Richmond Ranges – done done!

I am having a few days rest in Nelson (my left knee insists!).

I will be back on the trail 3 February – starting the Queen Charlotte Track from Anakiwa. I am booked on the Bluebridge to sail home to Wellington Waitangi Day 6 February.

The stretch from Hackett Hut to Pelorus Bridge will have to wait for another holiday. I have run out of days due to Richmond Ranges taking longer than expected (weather, left knee, right foot!!)

Tramping down through the forest
It was quite steep at times!
It felt and looked quite tropical
Grateful for good weather and low water levels – heaps of crossings!
A few good bridges
Lunch at Hackett Hut
We were rewarded with a swim in the river at the car park

Thanks Jane! There are many parts of the South Island I am keen to do more tramping in. Perhaps I can tempt you to join me?
